Diwali is the festival of lights which is celebrated in various regions across India. The name ‘Deepavali’ literally means an ‘array of lights’. To make the students understand the importance of Diwali, Lourdes Convent had a celebration in school on 23rd October 2019.

We celebrated clean and green Diwali with festive gusto. The day started with a special morning assembly wherein students delivered speeches on the significance of the festival and the relevance of eco-friendly celebrations. Teachers explained the importance of Diwali, the festival spiritually signifies the victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, good over evil, and hope over despair. Various other activities such as ‘inter-house Rangoli-making’, candle and ‘diya’ decoration, paper decoration, paper lanterns and card-making contests were organised in all the classes. Everybody enjoyed the celebration.
